CoCreate in 2016: Responsible Leadership and a New Home

A Happy 2016 from all at CoCreate
It's been a busy old start to 2016 for CoCreate, so in the spirit of openness and collaboration we thought we'd share a few things that we've got going on. Increasingly our work is focused on building the capacity to provide responsible leadership - in sport, for business leaders and for young people. It's what gets us out of bed in the morning, and what clients value most about our work. Here are a few headlines:

Our New Home
We've outgrown our home at Club Workspace and now have a permanent office at the very wonderful Old Paradise Yard in London's Waterloo. It's a bit like being in the middle of the countryside whilst being 500 metres from one of the busiest stations in the world - the photograph shows the view from our office. We love it!

Responsible Leadership in Sport
We have some wonderful projects on the go with brilliant clients. Here are a few:

  • Michael Johnson Young Leaders Summit - Working with the brilliant Think Beyond Team and Coaches Across Continents we are designing a Young Leaders programme for Michael Johnson (as in the sprinting legend!) which will fastrack 13 outstanding young athletes in sport who have overcome adversity to make a difference in their communities around the world. Humbling and inspiring.
  • Manchester City Young Leader Summit - Year Two for this ground-breaking programme, as the CoCreate team of Mthoko and Andy aim to build on the success of last year by welcoming 40 young leaders in and bringing back alumni from last year to train as facilitators for this years cohort.
  • Oasis Inspire Project - We're supporting the design of this brilliant new initiative which is aimed at tackling radicalistion through football and working over a three-year period towards a celebration that coincides with the 100 year celebration of the end of WW1. Watch this space for more!
  • Youth Leadership in Sport - We welcome Global Head of Development Dr. Kate Simpson from Wasafiri on board as an associate as we embark on ambitious project to explore the best ways to develop youth leadership in sport.

Responsible Leadership in Business
We continue to work with some inspirational organisations from the corporate world:

  • Forward Institute - Andy continues to work as a faculty member for the Fellowship, a cross-organisational Responsible Leadership programme for Senior Leaders from the corporate, public and not-for-profit sectors. He's supporting a project group exploring how organisations attract a wider range of Gen Y young people into their organisations and create more socially inclusive places to work. Take a look at their website for more on this incredible organisation.
  • Three Hands - We've been delighted to be working with Three Hands, a pioneering provider of Socially Responsible Leadership training programmes. Visit their website to learn more about their work.
  • Sport Industry NextGen Leadership Programme - Working with emerging talent from right across the whole of the industry (alright this is sport, but with organisations like Sky, BBC and BT it's also corporate!) CoCreate helped to launch the first cohort and we're already reviewing and tweaking what was a great start to ensure year two sets the bar higher.
