Cityzens Giving Young Leader Summit

Manchester City fund a range of community projects to tackle some of the most challenging issues facing young people today. From tackling youth violence in Colombia to combatting social exclusion in Australia and youth obesity in America, these young leaders are using the power of football to tackle the most urgent issues other young people face in their communities. By investing in their personal development and improving their skills as leaders and coaches, Manchester City aim to increase the power of the football effect across these communities.

CoCreate were engaged to work closely on all stages of the development of the Young Leader Summit. We started with concept development, consulting with the projects and the young leaders to gauge their learning needs. CoCreate then led on the design and development of a curriculum that featured four key pillars; Leadership and Self Awareness; Football for Good Curriculum; Coach development; delivering an inspirational Football Festival for local schools. The five-day programme blended a range of learning methodologies, and gave space for the young people to step up and lead different elements of the week. The feedback from the week was incredibly powerful, with the Summit gaining a 100% approval rating as a personal development experience.
