
Old Mutual Leadership Coaching
Challenge
Old Mutual is a leading provider of advice, investments and wealth management in the UK. Over the last 10 years the business has invested in a programme to transform its wealth management platform. This process became one of the largest re-platforming projects ever completed and resulted in a successful migration of over £62.5 billion of assets, more than 490,000 customers and over 600,000 accounts.
The project was business critical and involved collaboration across a core group of senior leaders. CoCreate were asked to provide 1:1 coaching for key leaders, supporting them to navigate the pressure and complexity whilst successfully leading this transformation programme.
Programme
We knew that it was vital that the coaching process provided rapid insight into self and others, and we therefore utilised the iEQ9 Enneagram Psychometric tool to generate more insight into the motivations and potential development gaps for coaching clients.
These insights enabled us to focus on priority development opportunities – both in terms of leadership mindset and behaviours and also understanding where to apply these within the business for maximum impact.
As our coaching clients gained more familiarity with the 9 Enneagram types they were also able to empathise more with the motivations and behaviours of their colleagues, increasing empathy and reducing friction.
