
Forward Together
Challenge
Immediate Media is a special-interest multi-media business that owns and operates some of the best-loved brands in the UK, including Radio Times, Good Food, Gardener’s World and many others. As media consumption trends continue to shift towards digital platforms and video content, CoCreate was asked to develop the leadership and collaboration needed to support their transition towards a primarily digital content delivery model.
Programme
CoCreate developed a brand for a new type of leadership programme called Forward Together, which brought together key elements of the current business with a future-facing, digitally themed brand.
The aim was to create a movement for change across Immediate by bringing together leaders from all levels (including Exec team members) to develop the skills, relationships and strategies to drive collective change. A custom-360 feedback tool based on Immediate’s Values enabled each leader to understand their strengths and development gaps and increase their capacity for giving and receiving feedback.
We introduced the Three Horizons framework to create a shared picture of the future for Immediate, and utilised key Agile methodologies (including Design Thinking and Scrum) to develop the leadership and innovation required to deliver this.
As we closed the programme CoCreate speaker and Olympic gold medalist Helen Richardson Walsh (MBE) inspired the group to reflect on the role of vulnerability, teamwork and inclusion as they moved ‘Forward Together’.
Impact
Nearly 100 senior leaders have been through the programme, with evaluation demonstrating the significant impact for leaders, including:
- 87% reported improvement in collaboration across the business
- 90% of participants felt more resilient in navigating change
- 97% improvement in their ability to build psychological safety
Client experience
My experience of Forward Together has been overwhelmingly positive. The programme brought all of us much closer together as a senior leadership cohort. It has also given us a really practical set of leadership tools to help us and our teams navigate through change and uncertainty and think about the opportunities that lie ahead.
